In addition to his elected and appointed positions, he also leads the contemporary worship group How Majestic where he plays guitar and sings. He selects music from their 500+ song repertoire for bi-weekly services. A composer for over 30 years, he composed and produced a "Rock Opera" based on the forty day period after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Entitled "40 Days: Resurrection to Ascension," it was first performed at Calvary Lutheran, Rio Linda on May 6, 2001. Several songs have become part of How Majestic's repertoire and have been performed at various Lutheran gatherings in the region. Roger is working on a new production of "40 Days." He hails from a musical family; his father was a Country Western artist, his mother sings in the church choir, and his sons are also multi-instrumental musicians and composers.
Roger also is a long-time web developer (since 1994) and hosts a dozen separate domains at his web hosting service. He has developed and manages web sites for various church organizations as well as several based on his own personal interests, including his home community of Antelope. His web sites collectively get thousands of hits per day and serve a worldwide audience. He brings his technical expertise to SLTV to support their website and various e-mail lists. Roger earned his Master of Science in Computer Science from California State University, Sacramento ; was elected to Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the computer science honor society; and was a member of the Association for Computing Machinery. He has been in the computer field for over 25 years and is employed by the California Department of Water Resources as a Data Communications Specialist where he manages the Department's statewide network.
Roger also served as chairperson for his high school class 30 year reunion, organizing the contacts and successfully planning the class' first reunion in twenty years. He also co-organizes an annual northern California gathering of music fans, and has since 1995.
Roger is married to Cecelia since 1976 and they have two sons, Matthew, 26, and Bradley, 22. They live in Antelope, California.
